The 2018 Pinot Noir de Brye Selection 100% Destemmed has all the drive that is such a signature of the de Brye series wines. Next to the whole cluster version, the destemmed wine has a bit more body and texture, which I think actually works better in terms of the wine’s balance, at least in 2018. Still tightly wound, the 2018 needs time in bottle to be at its best, but it is both impressive and promising. Readers should expect a savory, taut style that emphasizes structure over fruit. — Antonio Galloni
