Summary

The nose is still absolutely showing the classic Ramos vineyard block floral notes of honeysuckle and chamomile with green pear, yellow apple, lemon/lime and a hint of tropical. Youthful and balanced on the palate, juicy nectarine, pear, lemon oil, wet slate and a hint of pepper carry on a lively and lacey finish. We continue to be so impressed by the wines from the Ramos vineyard block!

High-toned, floral and earthy, with a lightness and elegance, this is a stainless-steel fermented white that did not undergo malolactic fermentation. It saw an additional six months of stainless-steel aging. It is named for a selection planted in 2001 on St. George rootstock and shows lovely spice and apple. — Virginie Boone

The 2018 Chardonnay The Ramos Selection is sourced from a parcel planted on St. George rootstock. Vinification in steel, with blocked malolactic fermentation, brings out the brighter, focused side of Chardonnay. White pear, flowers, mint and white pepper give this ethereal, weightless Chardonnay a very distinctive upper register.
