Cooked apples, lemon meringue pie and crushed stones on the nose. Medium-bodied with a tight and reserved mouth-feel and a tangy, crushed-stone aftertaste.— James Suckling

The 2023 Chardonnay The Ramos Selection emerges from a block planted in 2001 at a slightly higher elevation than the Zellerbach Chardonnay. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk and sage are some of the nuances that open with a bit of time in the glass. Here, too, aging is on the shorter side, and the malolactic fermentation is blocked. I especially admire the wine’s energy. - Anotonio Galloni

Sleek and vibrant, with intensity to the flavors of salted and preserved lemon, dried pineapple, and mango. Offers lemon curd, marmalade and jasmine notes, plus a touch of tangerine on the mouthwatering finish. Drink now. 125 cases made.— MaryAnn Worobiec

This stainless steel-fermented Chardonnay delivers a lovely nose of pithy lemon, ginger and pineapple sage aromas, giving way to a mouthwatering palate with flavors of tart pineapple, white flowers, and salty lime peel along a finish with a nice touch of grip. Lovely stuff. — Tom R. Capo
